Aug 2017 – We spent ten days at Camping By The Bay in Black Point this month. The weather was wonderful, only one rainy day and it happened overnight. By late morning the sun came back out.
We were very impressed with the campground. It’s large, clean, quiet and very picturesque as it sits right on the Bay of Chaleur. It’s run by a nice couple and their son who were very friendly and treated us well.
The campground has two levels – the upper area is sheltered by trees and has full facilities. That’s where we stayed. The lower area leads to the beach with lots of picnic tables and you’re right on the Bay. Some of the lower level sites are rented by seasonal campers. Some of the sites are full service, others water and electricity. But all have a fabulous view. There were folks tenting, some in RV’s and others had fifth wheels.
The campground has special occasional events for the campers. This week is the Acadian Day festival and they threw a party to celebrate. They also hold pot lucks occasionally and all are welcome. A great chance to meet the other campers.
Almost every night, there was a gorgeous sunset with a great view from the campground. Be sure to bring your camera.
We think Camping By the Bay is the best campground we have stayed in in the three years we’ve had our fifth wheel. If we are back in the area again, we would definitely stay there rather than some of the other camp sites in the area.
Thanks John Senior, Marjorie and John Junior for being perfect hosts!
